The apparent return and sustenance of peace and security in Rivers State has been described as Governor Wike's master stroke in governance of the State.
In a press statement issued over the weekend by the Kalabari Unity Project Initiative for Good Governance, KUPIGG, Gov Wike's priority attention to issues of peace and security in all parts of the State received great commendation, as the group expressed satisfaction over the Governor's efforts, describing it as well-intended and development-sensitive.
The KUPIGG leadership, including its Patron, Engr. Victor Obuzor, noted that since assumption of office, Chief Nyesom Wike has been firm and resolute on the achievement and sustenance of peace, security and other development infrastructures in the State, an action they said gave rise to even development in all sectors in the State, which has today become a pride of all Rivers people and the entire country.
According to KUPIGG: “Our dynamic and God sent Rivers Messiah, Gov Wike, today, your sincerity in peace initiative and security policies in the State have proven to Nigerians and people of the world that Rivers State is peaceful and truly an investment destination.
“This was demonstrated during the recent National Convention of the PDP in Port-Harcourt. The peaceful disposition of people of the State under your watch is also unprecedented, while business operators continue to grow in their various investments as a result of the enabling environment that your administration has created,” KUPIGG noted.
It further observed that in recent times the State has hosted several regional, national and international events and personalities, a development that clearly confirms that the State is peaceful and in safe hands.
KUPIGG said it is proud of Governor Wike's leadership which has made the State an investment bride for international investors, thanking Governor Wike for the noble feat and unprecedented achievements made, even in the face of deliberate actions aimed at distracting him from giving people of the State good governance.
KIPIGG urged him to remain focused and committed to the ideals of democracy, justice and development in the State.
