Emohua LG Boss Worried Over Resurgence Of Cult Groups In Communities

The Executive Chairman of Emohua Local Government Area, High Chief Tom Aliezi, has condemned in strong terms the resurgence of cult war in parts of Emohua Local Government Area, particularly the recent case of cult clash in Ubimini and Egbeda Communities.

He called on youths to embrace peace and become better persons to the society, emphasizing that the reward for crime and criminality is destruction.
Chief Tom in a Statement signed by his Senior Special Assistant on Information and Communication,

Bright Jossy on Tuesday confirmed that the attack on the two Communities (Ubimini and Egbeda) was a battle for territorial supremacy between rival cult groups.
He stated that most of the Youths involved in the cult activities are ignorant of the damage they are causing to their lives, because of the hard drugs they take.

He hinted that he has taken urgent steps in ensuring that normalcy is restored in the affected communities by providing logistics support to security operatives and their Armored Personnel Carriers (APC) to move into the troubled communities.

The Chief Security Officer of Emohua Local Government Area stated that the attack in Ubimini Community, which is a spillover of the Violence in Egbeda Community, came at a time he was almost concluding discussions with Egbeda Peace and Security Committee on how to restore peace in the Community.

"Immediately I got the information, I put a call across to the surveillance and the Police, and they moved in swiftly, and so many persons from the communities called me to confirm that.

Again, I have just deployed Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC) from the JTF in Ibaa to Ubimini and two other APC from the Area Command in Elele Alimini and Isiokpo to the communities to reduce the fear of a reprisal attack in the Communities," he said.

According to him. "its pitiable that the funds that we were supposed to channel into one empowerment or the other was been spent to mobilize security operatives to maintain peace in the communities".

The Council Chairman reassured the people of the Area of his Administration's commitment to the peace, progress and development of all communities in Emohua Local Government Area, and thanked the different security agencies for their swift response to his call.

He promised to continue providing logistics support to security agencies for positive results.###
