Having emerged the PDP Gubernatorial flag bearer in Rivers State, the People of Degema Local Government Area in the State have assured the State Governor, Chief ( Barr) Nyesom Wike, that they will support his aspiration for re-election with more than 500 thousands votes.
This disclosure was made by the Lawmaker representing Degema Constituency in the State House of Assembly, Hon. Doctor Farah Dagogo, after a meeting with his associates and supporters.
The Bonny /Degema House of Representatives aspirant on the PDP platform, told the gathering that the 2019 general election is a serious business meant for serious people, adding that Degema people have resolved to ensure that PDP wins all the political seats come 2019.
He equally warned those aspirants who do not have the requisite qualifications to desist from believing that endorsements from party leaders will qualify them, stressing that the party is not in the business of giving its tickets to unpopular and undeserving aspirants.
" As it concerns Degema, I want to assure His Excellency, Chief (Barr.) Nyesom Wike, his Deputy and our mummy, Her Excellency, Dr. (Mrs.) Ipalibo Harry Banigo, who incidentally is from Degema, that Degema LGA alone will give them more than 500 thousands votes.
" All candidates of the PDP will enjoy same number of votes from our LGA. We will walk the talk and prove that Degema is PDP and PDP is Degema. With those number of votes and more that will come from other parts of the State, victory for Governor Wike in 2019 is assured.
"As far as we in Degema are concerned, the Governor and all the Party's candidates should go and sleep, PDP will get Degema votes and it will be a landslide. I want to implore the Governor to, at this point, channel his strength and concentration to continue giving the people of our State quality governance that has been the hallmarks of his administration and one that has endeared him to the people and given him deserved accolades within and outside the country.
Hon. Dagogo further expressed confidence that he will emerge as the PDP's candidate for Bonny/Degema Federal House Representatives and would subsequently win the general elections, stressing that he is in the race to win.
