Dr. Banigo disclosed this while playing host to a delegation of the Scripture Union, Nigeria at the Government House in Port Harcourt on Thursday, 30th January, 2020.
The Deputy Governor who re-echoed Governor Wike's earlier declaration that the State is a one hundred percent Christian State said “only God alone can do what no man can do for us and we will continue to hold on to that faith”.
The Deputy Governor expressed the need for the Youths to embrace Christ, noting that whatever we can do for our youths to imbibe the faith and stay in it will be done.
According to Dr. Banigo “today we have found out that our young ones are ravaged because of the level of unemployment, so we have decided that in other to close that gap as best as we can we will take the word of God, the power of God and skills acquisition across to them.
We want these young ones to see purpose in their lives and realise that God did not create them for noting”
She expressed the willingness to partner with Scripture Union to make sure that Christian Publications of the Scripture Union gets to primary and secondary schools across the State.
The General Director of the Scripture Union of Nigeria, Philips Odelana Adewale who congratulated Governor Wike and his Deputy for their second term electoral victory, informed the Deputy Governor that the Scripture Union which is a Ministry that leads young People to Christ, came into existence in 1867, while it came to Nigeria in 1985.
