Distinguished Senator Mpigi made this declaration while speaking to some friends from Rivers State who paid him a birthday visit in Abuja on Monday.
He described Governor Wike as a passionate and courageous governor who is putting in everything at his disposal for the peace and accelerated development of Rivers State and deserves the support of all well-meaning indigines of the state.
"All through my political life I have always been supporting any governor I see has the interest and development of Tai people and the state at heart and that attracted me to support Governor Wike. Governor Wike has demonstrated capacity in the handling of the affairs of the State. He has also passionately defended the interest of the state and relentlessly embarked on developmental projects every day.
"When I supported Gov Odili he did renovate some schools and established the NYSC camp in Tai. When I supported Gov Amaechi, he also did some schools, health centres and established the Songhai and Banana farms in Tai. Tai has also immensely benefited from Governor Wike's administration. I've seen him embark on projects in Tai such as the Eteo - Kira road, the renovation of so many primary and secondary schools, the massive development of the NYSC orientation camp in Nonwa/Gbam and the Saakpenwa-Bori road etc. Very soon the proposed Cottage hospital in Tai will start. He has also appointed Tai sons into cabinet and other strategic positions of government. So I'm very proud of him. I therefore have no regrets at all supporting him", he stated.
The experienced Federal legislator called on all Rivers men, women and youths to continue to support Governor Wike so as to encourage him to take Rivers State to enviable heights in line with the New Rivers Vision.
Distinguished Senator Mpigi thanked all those who celebrated his birthday with him and assured them of his commitment to fulfil all his electioneering promises to the people of the Rivers South-East Senatorial District in particular and Rivers State in general.
