The Presidency has announced the convening of an induction retreat for all ministers designate, an event scheduled to be held at the State House Banquet Hall, Abuja from August 15-16, 2019 in preparedness for their inauguration.
According to an official statement issued via its official twitter account @NGRPresident, the presidency announced President Muhammadu Buhari’s approval of the convening of the induction retreat for the Ministers’ designate, further stating that preparatory to the inauguration of the Cabinet, all relevant study documents for the guidance of the ministers will be made available at the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation as from 10am on Tuesday August 6th, 2019.
You would recall that the Nigerian upper legislative chamber had on Tuesday July 30th wrapped up the screening of all 43 potential ministers as sent by President Muhammadu Buhari, setting a new record of grilling just 20 of them while 23 others were given a special treatment and given the nod of approval without as much as a single question being asked. This was after five days of what many Nigerians described as a ‘bow and go screening’
The 23 nominees, who were not questioned included Chris Ngige, Hadi Sirika, Muhammad Bello, Gbemisola Saraki, Pauline Tallen, Sharon Ikeazor, Lai Mohammed, Rotimi Amaechi, Timipre Sylva, Zainab Ahmed, Godswill Akpabio, Sa’adiya Umar Farouk and Otunba Adeniyi Adebayo.
Others are Dr. Ramatu Aliyu, George Akume, Olorunnimbe Mamora, Tayo Alasoadura, Maryam Katagum, Abubakar Aliyu, Mustapha Shehuri, Ambassador Zubairu Dada, Emeka Nwajiuba and Maigari Dingyadi.
