“In Rundele Community, we followed up the government's directives by raising up a committee to sensitize and distribute sanitizers to the people and also informed the residents on the need to observe all the precautionary measures of government for them to stay alive.”
Eze Kpanikwu disclosed that his council of chiefs is also considering supporting the state government's palliatives to the council area with their own too, in order to augment whatever is due them. “In our own small way, we are going to donate something to cushion the effect of the pandemic on our people”, he said.
He equally commended Governor Wike for building and equipping hospitals as well as isolation centres, all in a concerted effort to ensure that Rivers people stay alive.
Eze Kpanikwu used the opportunity to appeal to Rivers people and residents to persevere a little more under the pains of the lockdown order, advising that only one that is alive can think of food and progress, adding that the scourge will come and go like all others before it.
