Egi Security: ONELGA Council Partners EPA, Others To Fight Crime

The Executive Chairman, Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area (ONELGA), Hon. Vincent Job, has pledged his council’s commitment to partner security agencies, local vigilante organizations and other stakeholders to reduce crime in Egi Kingdom in particular and ONELGA in general.

The Chairman made this known when he received the new Executive Council members of Egi People’s Assembly (EPA) led by their President-General, Comrade Ugochukwu Orikoha in his office in Omoku, headquarters of ONELGA.

The council boss who described security as everybody’s business, enjoined stakeholders to cooperate with the Council and security outfits to ensure rapid socio-economic development in the area.

He regretted the dark days of ONELGA when insecurity and other social vices were the order of the day, and called on youths to eschew violence, crime and criminality to enjoy more dividend of democracy.

Earlier, leader of the delegation and President-General, Egi People’s Assembly (EPA), Comrade Ugochukwu Orikoha congratulated the Chairman on his victory both at the polls and the tribunal, stressing that EPA has a formidable team that can work with the Council to move ONELGA forward.

He said one of the cardinal objectives of the present executive is to industrialize Egi to reduce unemployment, adding that capacity building and adoption of Universal Health Scheme are also priority areas.

The President-General appealed to the Chairman to cooperate with the four elected Councilors from Egi to bring infrastructural development to the Kingdom.

On his part, Secretary-General, EPA, Elder Vincent Ake, thanked the Council Chairman for operating an open-door policy which has endeared him to the people, and urged him to maintain the tempo.
