Atiku ‘ll Take Us To Canaan, Says EMOLGA PDP Faithful

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Emohua Local Government Area, Comrade Friday Ovumgba has said that the victory of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar in the just concluded National Convention of the party portends good in the quest to unseat President Mohammadu Buhari in 2019.

He said Atiku possessed the capacity to end the misrule foisted on Nigerians in the past three and half years by the All Progressives Congress (APC) and commended all delegates to the just concluded State primaries and National Convention for a job well done.

Ovumgba, who spoke to journalists in Port Harcourt after the PDP national convention which produced Alhaji Atiku Abubakar as the presidential flag bearer for next year’s general election, said the delegates also did a great job with the caliber of candidates chosen in all fronts.

He said the outcome of the whole events has demonstrated a party with a resolve, willingness and capacity to kick the APC out of power, come 2019.

“For a party to organize an election of that magnitude in such peaceful and tranquil atmosphere, deserves commendation and just goes to show a party where internal democracy is at work”, he said.

The PDP stalwart, who coordinates the activities of Arise Nigeria/Unit2Unit groups in Emohua Local Government Area, said the success that followed the State primaries and National Convention was the result of cohesion and hegemony.

“That is what you get in a party where factions don’t exist; where there are no crises, the Governor and the party Chairman is working hand in hand”, Ovumgba submitted, adding that the summation of the PDP exercises showed that ‘nobody won and nobody lost’.

“In PDP, our guiding philosophy is that victory for one is victory for all because we know that in any contest, only one person is declared winner.  So it is that belief that guides our mindsets.  PDP is one big happy family”, he said.

On the crises currently bedecking the APC in Rivers, Ovumgba who is the State Chairman of the All Keke Owners Freedom Association, said the situation would be a boost for PDP in 2019 as, according to him, there is an irreconcilable difference between the gladiators.

The youthful politician also stated that Governor Wike’s excellent performances has further dwarfed and depleted the APC, causing Rivers people to distance themselves from the party.

He used the occasion to salute Alhaji Atiku Abubakar for picking the PDP presidential ticket; Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, for his victory at the State Governorship primary; and Hon. Sam Oge who won the State Assembly primary for Emohua Constituency.
