Jubilations As Kalu Clinches Abia Assembly APC Ticket

It was celebration galore in Ututu Community in Abia State over the weekend as a retired Director of Finance with the Federal Ministry of Finance, Abuja, Hon Anthony Nwankwo Kalu, clinched the Abia State House of Assembly ticket to contest the Arochukwu State Constituency under the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2019 general election.

Two aspirants, Dr. Chima Ogba and Mazi Agodi Okoro had earlier stepped down for the lucky candidate before the final contest. They gave the reason that however their action was in the over all interest of the party and the people of the area.

In his thank you message at the victory party, organized by family members and friends to mark the event, Hon Tony Kalu, on behalf of his family and campaign team, “progress 2019”, thanked everybody who contributed in one form or the other in enthroning him as the APC party flag bearer to contest next year’s polls.

Mr. Kalu humbly appreciated the immense sacrifices and support of their leader and pathfinder in ensuring that he succeeds. They include, Chief Daniel Okeke, Chief Steve K. Nwankwo, Chief Onny Igbokwe, Hon. Chibuike Jones, Sir Chris Akuma, Chief Emeaba, Madam Ngozi Ogbuagu, Chukwu Ndem, Mazi Kingsley, Nicholas and a host of others.

The Abia State House of Assembly hopeful also thanked the APC local government party chairman, Mazi John I. Okoro, all the wards chairmen and other executive members and entire party supporters for their steadfastness.

Hon Kalu equally appreciated his co-aspirants whom he noted sacrificed their own ambition for the party’s interest.

“I assure both of you that we are jointly winners of this contest. I say thank you so much, together we will work and effect the needed positive change in our constituency”, he said.

Hon Tony Kalu equally used the opportunity to appreciate the sacrifices of his family members and well-wishers whose prayers contributed in no small measure to the success story.

While thanking the Almighty God, who made it possible, Hon Kalu said he looks forward for greater cooperation, supports and prayers as they prepare for the main election”.
