The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the Ikwerre/Emohua Federal Constituency in the forthcoming general elections, Hon (Barr) Boniface Sunday Emerengwa, has appreciated the stakeholders, delegates and supporters at the just concluded primary election for their love, steadfastness and confidence in him to deliver on his mandate.
Hon. Emerengwa who stated this during the PDP Thanksgiving Service at Government House, also used the opportunity to extend his appreciation to the other aspirants who contested the position with him, promising not only to work with them but would incorporate their manifestoes in his programmes in a concerted effort to move the constituency forward.
He made it clear that his emergence through a keenly contested primary was an act of God, assuring that he will not forget to reciprocate the gesture when voted again into office.
Barr. Emerengwa confessed that he was not able to make any substantial impact with his previous mandate because of consistent court actions from the APC which eventually dethroned him, adding that this time around the story will be different.
“I will not only give my people effective representation but would also be accessible in both Ikwerre and Emohua Local Governments Areas constituency offices,” he said.
On the chances of the PDP winning the 2019 general election at the federal level, Barr. Emerengwa said that arrangements have been concluded to ensure a free, fair and transparent election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), adding that both INEC officials and security agencies will not be given any chance to manipulate the electoral process or the results.
The former legislator further used the opportunity to congratulate Gov. Nyesom Ezenwo Wike and other PDP stakeholders for the successful hosting of the 2018 National Convention in Port Harcourt, which he said was adjudged the best in terms of planning and execution.
He made it known that the general acceptance of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar at the presidential primary showed that PDP is ready to take over the country and stop the sufferings of Nigerians.
“The development further confirmed the peaceful security situation of the State, contrary to the insinuations and propaganda of the opposition party”.
He equally used the opportunity to applaud the PDP leadership for acknowledging God in its affairs, through the thanksgiving service, adding that it was going to open doors for the party in the years to come.
