RATTAWU President Thanks Rivers Govt For Hosting 2018 NAFEST
…As Commissioner Assures Delivery Of More Projects
The National President of Radio, Television, Theatre and Arts Workers Union of Nigeria (RATTAWU), Comrade Kabir Garba Tssani, has thanked the government and people of Rivers State for hosting the ongoing zonal meeting of the Union.
He also appreciated and commended the Rivers State government for hosting the 2018 National Festival for Arts and Culture (NAFEST), saying it is an indication that the government of the day is not only people and labour-friendly, but very predisposed towards collaborating with any meaningful body and organization that mean well for the people of the State and nation at large.
According to him, the just concluded Presidential Primary elections of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Port Harcourt is adjudged one of the best in the history of this country, which he said underscores the belief in the ideals and tenets of democracy, adding that the tenure of Barr. Nyesom Wike has brought unprecedented dividends of democracy to the people of Rivers State.
Comrade Garba, therefore, urged the governor to sustain the tempo but requested him to consider the migration of the State owned media houses from analogue to digital.
Responding, the Rivers State Commissioner for Information and Communication, Barr. Emma Okah, on behalf of the Governor, said that Barr. Nyesom Ezenwo Wike will continue to do more projects for the people of the State.
According to him, when the administration of Governor Wike came on board, everything in the State was disorganized but he took his time to build them, stressing that what people hear in the news concerning projects embarked upon by the governor all over the State was simply the truth and he would do more for the good people of the State.
He congratulated RATTAWU for their ongoing zonal meeting in the State and wished them well, adding that the migration of the State-owned media outfits from analogue to digital was in progress.
