Barr. Otubu Appreciates Supporters
One of the aspirants for the Ikwerre/Emohua Federal Constituency in the just concluded party primaries under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Barr. Celia Chisa Otubu, said she has accepted the outcome of the election but appreciated her teeming supporters for standing with her throughout the period.
Speaking with journalists at the PDP Thanksgiving service at Government House, Port Harcourt, she stated that though under normal circumstance, she was confident of winning the contest, she resigned to her fate in the interest of the party, adding that “man proposes but God disposes”.
Barr. Otubu, however, believed that God has something great for her in future, explaining that the impact she made was much inspiring and encouraging to the up-and-coming female politicians.
“I believe that the future is very bright for me. What I can’t get today might come my way tomorrow, perhaps in a greater way,” she declared.
Chief Otubu used the opportunity to congratulate winners of the primary elections at all levels, and further appreciated all those who contributed in one way or the other to ensure the realization of her political ambition.
In a statement personally signed by her and circulated in the media, Barr. Otubu said: “though, I did not secure the ticket to represent the Ikwerre/Emohua Federal Constituency at the 2019 polls, nonetheless, I thank God for the opportunity given me to participate. Please join me to thank God.
“Let me also use this medium to thank you all for your faithful support, goodwill messages, constant encouragement, fervent and effective prayers. I appreciate,” she declared.
Barr. Otubu, however, promised to join hands with other party faithfuls to ensure the victory of the PDP at the polls next year.
She made it known that anything needed to be done to remove the APC administration will be applied legitimately.
