UNIPORT Motor Park To Wear New Look

To tackle the problems of illegal parking and harassment by hoodlums and illegal operators within and outside the park, the chairman, University of Port Harcourt ultimate motor park, Choba, Comr. Walele Precious Ihua, has promised to reconstruct new shops, and update some of the buildings already sited in the park for business to boom.

Comr. Ihua, while addressing newsmen in his office, Choba, Port Harcourt, recently, said such gesture would enhance businesses and would help to restrict movements within and outside the motor parks, adding that the security post would also receive attention with security agencies deployed to help monitor activities in the park.

He stated that the construction of market has already commenced and will soon reach final stage and that adequate security provided, stressing that criminal activities were on the high side before now but with supports of his executives and the Police as well as his ability to follow up matters acts of criminality and illegal parking have drastically reduced.

Comr. Ihua noted that while the park did not receive attention before now was because it was on lease, adding that he is happy to renew the contract and can now develop the park to meet up the requirements of Model Park with employments provided to the youths.

According to him, Nigerians need force in some areas and it was based on that, that his executives have recorded success.

He promised that in due time, criminality and illegal parking would be a thing of the past, adding that the Christmas season would be peaceful, especially in the area of transportation. He called on drivers, marketers and users of the park to show cooperation and to report any suspected movements in order to restore peace, security and unity.
