The Paramount Ruler/Nyenweli Oginigba Kingdom in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State, HRH Eze Gashion B. Odum (JP) has lamented the poor state of internal roads in his domain despite the fact that they are the host to about 70% of the states industries.
He stated this over the weekend in his palace when the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Ward – Campaign team paid him a courtesy call.
The Monarch used the opportunity to appeal to Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike to extend his attention to the community as he resumes for the second term.
Eze Odum was full of praises for according to him, the focused leadership Wike has been providing the State and urged him never to be distracted, adding that though the opposition might not acknowledge his excellent performance now, the world over has done so through the numerous awards he has earned.
The royal father also commended the State Governor for not paying attention to those he described as gossipers who earn their living through that.
“If Governor Wike had listened to those interlopers, I wouldn’t be where I am today because there is nothing they have not done to pull me down but my God says no to their evil plots. I thank the Governor for being a man he is. My enemies will continuously be disgraced”, he declared.
The royal father equally used the opportunity to appeal to well-meaning Nigerians to intervene and see how the three Ikwerre prominent sons including Governor Nyesom Wike, former Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaech and Celestine Omehia could be reconciled in the interest of the Ikwerre Ethnic Nationality.
On the PDP electioneering campaign, Eze Odum said they are playing advisory role as traditional rulers, but that he would be doing injustice to himself if he fails to mobilize members of his family to vote and defend their votes to swell the PDP candidates’ victory at the polls going by what he called the superlative performance of Governor Wike these years.
The royal father lamented how his enemies boycotted visiting his palace in 2014 general election on the allegation that he was a member of the APC opposition party and indeed went and report same to the authority just to tarnish his image.
He thanked the PDP unit-to-unit campaign team for deeming fit to call on him and gave them his blessings for a safe programme in his domain.
Earlier, the campaign coordinator Hon. Temple Ariolu informed the monarch and his council of chiefs that the State governor was actually the one who commission them for the campaigns tagged “operation sensitize and deliver your units”, in order to sure up their bulk vote delivery.
He made it known that with the governor’s performance, their job has been made easier.
Hon. Ariolu also reminded the gathering on the need to mobilize support for all the PDP candidates to ensure that they take over in order to save the country from total destruction by the cabal that has held it hostage.
The campaign coordinator emphasized on the need for the voters to shun voters apathy this time around and ensure that they use their PVCs to kick-out the evil APC-led federal government.
