Lamptern Foundation On Rescue  For Youths Empowerment

A group of interested persons in collaboration with the Rivers State Government have pulled their resources together to assist the youths, women, less privileged and indeed any interested persons in the society to not only realize their God given talents but to effectively utilize it and be self-reliant.

Speaking with newsmen, the president of the group, Prince Eze said they took up the challenge to establish the fact that Nigerian youths are not lazy as alleged by President Mohammadu Buhari sometime ago.

“We also pick up the challenge when the youths were encouraged by the Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Ezenwo Wike to allow 60% of political chances to the youths as leaders of tomorrow in order for them to be empowered and start understudying the elderly ones in preparation to take over in the future”.

Also speaking, the coordinator of the foundation, Hon. David Sunday Adah disclosed that there will be about 20 different skills to teach the people including soap making, fashion designing, tailoring, computer, catering, driving among others.

He stated that the Instructors and Resource Persons are professional on their own drawn from Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt.

Hon. Adah further disclosed that the centre for the training will be at Jubilee Park, Beside Agbani Derago Hall, Bende Street, PH Township area of Port Harcourt.

He also informed that the free registration form is out, while the training proper will kick start from February 15, 2019 and last for two months.

The coordinator equally informed that on graduation, the successful candidates will be given starter packs and in the case of the drivers, they will be assisted to acquire driver’s license and perhaps assist the professional drivers get placement for permanent jobs.

He used the opportunity to urge members of the public even graduates to take advantage of the scheme to add more skills to what they have.
