Presidential, N/A Elections: Rivers PDP Chairman, Bro Felix Obuah Enjoins Rivers People To File Out, Vote Peacefully
Bro Felix Obuah, Chairman of the Rivers State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has charged eligible voters across the State to put behind the disappointment of last week’s postponed elections and file out en masse this Saturday, February 23, to cast their votes.
In a statement, the State PDP boss said all the drama playing out by anti democratic elements about the army and police, during the general elections are geared towards demoralizing them, stressing that the only way to stop them from having their way is to be peaceful, patient and resilient.
Bro Obuah argued that nothing great ever comes easy but expressed optimism that in the end, the will of the people shall prevail.
Though it may be a sort disturbing now, Bro Obuah noted, the joy of it is that after the exercise the people will have responsible, caring and altruistic leaders to manage their affairs for the good of the greater majority of the Rivers citizens.
Bro Obuah who took exception to anything that would constitute a stumbling block to a smooth conduct of the elections, however, regretted that the enemies of the people feel more concerned and uneasy by the least pain in their little finger than the destruction of the future of millions of their fellow beings.
“I therefore humbly enjoin you not to be deterred or demoralized. See it as a duty you owe to yourself and the future of our dear State to come out on time on Saturday and quietly but watchfully cast your votes. It’s not threats, not the antics of the opposition nor the plots of the enemies that kill us. It is the decisions we make and the actions we take against our collective interests. So ‘shine’ your eyes and remember the future of your children for a better life, adequate security, food on the table of all, among others as you vote on Saturday, February 23 and Saturday, March 9,” Bro Obuah advised.
