Ihuaba Community Denies Involvement In Vandalized Electricity Facilities

The people of Ihuaba Community in Ahaoda East Local government area of Rivers State have denied being involved in the vandalization of electricity facilities along the Elele-Alimini-Ahaoda power line.

 The authority of Emuoha Local Government Council had recently alleged that the people of Ihuaba community in Ahoada-East are responsible for the vandalized electricity facilities in the their area,

One of the Leaders, Amezinim Otuwarikpo, who spoke on behalf of the Community, denied the allegation, saying there was a misconception that members of its community are involved in the stealing and vandalization of electricity facilities being installed by authorities of Emohua Local Government Council.

He regretted that the misconception which led to the illegal arrest of one Chief Buduka and others was provocative, stressing that as a people they are committed to maintaining the peaceful coexistence between Ihuaba and Elele-Alimini people.

Another Leader of the Community, Richard Ewhoh, informed that two soldiers and some youths suspected to be Elele-Alimini citizens have been arrested and called on the relevant agencies to intervene and caution the Chairman of Emohua Local Government Area, Tom Aliezi, from embarking on actions that may cause crisis among the two communities.
