National Network Chapel Gets Ag. Chairman
In line with NUJ guidelines for election of their officers at state and chapel levels and replacement of same in the event of positions declared vacant before the expiration of the subsisting tenure, National Network Chapel has got a new Chairman who will pilot her affairs till the end of the present administration.
She is Mrs Ngozi Anosike who before now was the Vice Chairman of the chapel. She was endorsed by the members of the chapel and the leadership of NUJ, Rivers State Council to take up the position in an acting capacity pending when the tenure will be over.
Mrs Anosike replaces the former Chairman, Mr Sunny Zorvah who has left the organization.
The Chairman of NUJ, Rivers State Council, Mr Stanley Job, who was in the chapel to supervise the process advised the chapel to ensure that election is conducted as soon as the present tenure expires, adding that everyone including the acting chairman is eligible to contest.
Responding, the Acting Chairman, Ngozi Anosike, thanked the chapel members for believing that a woman can effectively lead and represent the chapel and promised to serve them well.
She praised the publisher, Pastor Jerry Needam, for being gender sensitive and for giving her the platform to showcase her potentials.
Ngozi Anosike who is also the Assistant Secretary of NAWOJ in Rivers State, maintained that in line with this year’s International Women’s Day (IWD) which is “Balancing For Better’, she will use her new position to improve the welfare of the members while bridging the gap between men and women in the chapel and in the profession.
On his part, the Editor-in-chief and the General Manager of National Network, Chris Konkwo, congratulated Mrs Anosike and wished her well in her new position.
