IGP Congratulates 8,916 Newly Decorated Officers

Mohammed Adamu, the acting Inspector General of Police (AIG), has congratulated the 8,916 newly-decorated officers.

A press statement on Thursday by Aremu Adeniran, a Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) and Deputy Force Public Relations Officer, noted that Frank Mba, the Force Public Relations Officer, was among those decorated by the IGP in Abuja on Thursday.

Mba, it will be recalled, was an Assistant Commissioner of Police before his elevation as the Deputy Commissioner of Police. The decoration was in furtherance of the March 31, 2019, announcement by the Police Service Commission (PSC) of promotion of some officers of the Force.

Meanwhile, other officers decorated by the IGP include Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Igbafe Afegbai, the Second-in-Command, Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), and Superintendent of Police (SP), Atiku Ibrahim, Personal Assistant to the IGP.

While decorating the three officers, the IGP congratulated them and the 8,913 others for their elevation, charging them to see their promotion as a call to rededicate themselves to the service of the nation and to continue to recognise and uphold the fundamental rights of the citizens.
