Oba Of Ogbaland Congratulates Governor Wike On Re-Election, Commends Onelga People For Peaceful Elections.

The Oba (Eze-Ogba) of Ogbaland and former Chairman, Rivers State Council of Traditional Rulers, His Eminence, Sir (Dr) Chukumela Nnam Obi II (OON, DSSRS,JP) has congratulated the Executive Governor of Rivers State, His Excellency, Chief (Barr.) Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, CON GSSRS, POS (A) on his re-election for second term in office, describing the re-election as an act of God and victory for Democracy.

The Eze Ogba who spoke while addressing mammoth jubilant who trooped to his Palace at Omoku to celebrate the Declaration of Governor Wike as the winner of the just concluded Governorship Election in Rivers State noted that the INEC declaration was a true reflection of the wishes of the good people of Rivers State in particular and Nigeria in general.

He appealed to Governor Wike to be magnanimous in victory by operating an all inclusive government and therefore advised losers of the last election to accept their defeat in good faith and support the winner to succeed as it is the Lord’s doing and His time remains the best. 

The Elder Statesman requested the Governor to assiduously work towards fulfilling his electoral promises to the people by focusing mostly on security, peace, unity, job creation as well as  govern the state with the fear of God, advising that the Governor should distances himself from sycophants, bootlickers and character assassins. 

The Royal father commends the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for their boldness, hard work and uprightness by resisting pressures from various quarters to upturn or cancel the Rivers State Governorship Election.

Oba Chukumela Obi II used the forum to commend the people of Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area of Rivers State for a peaceful 2019 general elections in the area unlike what happened during the 2015 general elections.

He applauded the political class, men and women, the youths and Security Agencies for avoiding the repeat of 2015 general elections that was fatal in the area and also thanked Churches, Religious Leaders and Traditionalists for their ceaseless prayers and fasting since the beginning of the year for a peaceful 2019 general elections in ONELGA as requested by the Oba (Eze-Ogba) in Council and gave God the glory.
