Integrity Group : Meshack Uyi Slams Wechie Over ‘Romance’ With APC

…Uyi’s ‘A Criminal Impostor’ – Minikwu Samuel

The Integrity Friends For Truth and Peace Initiative (TIFPI) ahe Integrity Group) has criticized Mr. Livingstone Wechie for allegedly using the name of the group to ‘run errands’ for the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Rivers State.

The group in a statement signed by Sir Meshack Uyi, regretted that Wechie whom he claimed was suspended by the Directors of Integrity Group in 2017, following activities they termed as inimical to the aims and objectives of the group, has continued to parade as Executive Director.

Uyi noted that several efforts were made by the Directors of Integrity Group to call Wechie to order, including a query for him to explain why he was using the group’s name for what it called political pori-porridge, but that none of these efforts yielded fruit as Wechie refused to respond.

Part of its grouse against Wechie, Uyi stated, arose from the fact that Wechie disowned a petition sent to the National Assembly, associated with the sales of key assets owned by the Rivers State Government to Sahara Group (Sahara Energy).

“Mr. Livingstone Wechie himself personally signed and submitted the petition to the National Assembly, EFCC and other agencies backed by an affidavit of Court, but he quickly somersaulted after being heavily induced with money by the Rotimi Amaechi and his cronies”, Uyi said, adding that this unwholesome action brought the image of Integrity Group to ridicule.

“That same Livingstone Wechie used the Integrity Group to attack Justice Walter Onnoghen when the respected CJN came to flag-off the now completed and commissioned Judges quarters in Port Harcourt.  Wechie even attempted to denigrate the character of the Honourable Attorney-General and Commissioner of Justice, Emma Aguma (SAN) even at death”, Uyi said.

On the basis of what he described as far-reaching allegations against Wechie coupled with his refusal to respond to queries, Uyi said the Directors were compelled to relieve him (Wechie) of his duties as Executive Director.  As he put it, the action was tended ‘to save the already drowning image of our group’, adding that Wechie remains suspended till date and that a legal action had kick-started which would soon be served on Wechie.

Efforts to reach Mr. Livingstone Wechie for reactions failed as his phone line could not connect.  But a member of the Board of Trustee of Integrity Friends for Truth and Peace Initiative (The Integrity Group), Mr. Minikwu Samuel when contacted, raised alarm against Mr. Meshack Uyi whom he called an impostor, alleging that he (Uyi) has been ‘criminally impersonating the Integrity Group’.

“Meshack Uyi is using the name of Integrity Group for political purposes as well as addressing himself as the Acting Executive Director.  He has continued to issue press statements in the name of our organization for political racketeering in a bid to fraudulently mislead the unsuspecting public as well as extort monies from them fraudulently using the name of our organization”, Samuel said.

“May we absolutely and severally disclaim, refute and deny all press statements this impostor has issued in the name of our organization as they do not and will never represent the position or opinion of the Organization which he will never be in a position to represent”, Samuel said.
