ANAN Ends Conference, Calls For Multiple Streams Income
A-ONE day seminar organised by members of the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN), Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area Unit of Rivers State Chapter has ended at the Federal College (Technical) Omoku with a call on certified accountants/the General Public to embrace Multiple Streams of Income for Sustainability in a Pluralistic world.
Declaring open the seminar with the theme “MULTIPLE STREAMS OF INCOME: A NECESSITY FOR SUSTAINABILITY OF MAN AND ORGANIZATIONS. The Provost of Federal College of Education (Technical), Omoku, Dr. Emmanuel Ikenyiri stressed on the need for staff of the College to venture into business activities that are capable of generating alternative income which is the only way for them to survive in a country like Nigeria where cost of living is sky-rocking on daily basis.
He commended the association for the choice of the theme as well as the calibar of the paper presenter, Mr. Ahiakwo Victor Ifeanyi, CNA (Internal Auditor) of the College whom he described as guru in accounting system and urged other professional associations in the College to emulate ANAN by organising seminars/ workshops and conferences for her members and the staff of the College and the general public.
The Provost used the forum to call on parents and guardians who pulled out their children/wards from the College due to insecurity to return them back as by the power of Almighty God, permanent peace has returned to Omoku and its environs.
In his speech as Chairman of the occasion, the South South Zonal Chairman of ANAN, Dr. Boniface I.B. Woko, FCNA disclosed that the association established in 1979 (40 years ago) and chartered by Decree NO. 76 of 1993 (Now CAP. A26LFN.2004) is only the College of Accountancy in Africa which is located in Jos, Nigeria, and the second of such College in the world.
Dr. Woko who doubled as Rivers State Chairman of the Association commend the Management of Federal College of Education (Technical), Omoku for their supports to ANAN members in the College and urged the members to reciprocate the gesture for cordiality.
Earlier in his welcome address, the ONELGA Unit Chairman of the association, Dr. (Pastor E. M. Okejim, FCNA, disclosed that the seminar which was the third of its kind organised in the area is aimed at updating members and as well as enlightening the public on the importance and need of financial and accounting issues of great benefit.
In his paper presentation, the guest speaker, Mr. Ahiakwo Victor Ifeanyi, who is the director, Directorate of Internal Audit, FCE(T) Omoku. Noted that individual and institutional creativity in relevant in the generation of multiple streams of income which is very important towards the achievement of sustainable economic life.
