Promoting The Gospel Of Christ: Jerry Needam Tasks Politicians To Emulate Wike, Obuah Examples

The Publisher of National Network group of newspapers, Pastor Jerry Needam has called on politicians in the State and those in positions of authority, to emulate Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike and the State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Bro. Felix Obuah, in promoting the work of the Kingdom of God.

Pastor Needam, who made the call while speaking as Chairman at the Centenary Celebration of St. Bartholomew’s Christ Army Church of Nigeria, Sii in Bori Diocese of the Christ Army Church of Nigeria, Khana Local Government Area on Wednesday, said Governor Wike and the State PDP Chairman have, according to him, carved a lofty path in Kingdom service for others to tread.

He charged others to emulate the Governor who he said, has always demonstrated uncommon passion for the work of God, citing the declaration of Rivers as a Christian State and building of an ultramodern Ecumenical Center for worshippers in the State as good examples, adding that the Governor has also continued to provide moral and financial support to many churches in the State.

Pastor Needam who is also Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to Rivers PDP Chairman, Bro. Felix Obuah, told politicians to take note of the fact that God has blessed them to become blessings to the church and humanity, urging them to identify areas of need in church with a view to addressing them.

He also wants politicians in the State to emulate the benevolent gestures of Bro. Obuah whom he said, has positively affected many lives in the State through series of financial and logistic supports which he renders to churches and other religious organizations that cut across denominations.

The renowned Publisher who is also the Media/Communications Director of the Christ Army Church of Nigeria, noted that aside such supports, the State PDP boss has also assisted in building churches for other denominations in his native Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area and other LGAs in the State as well as for communities outside the State.

He charged politicians not to be among those he called ‘bench warmers’ and passive members in the church, but to use their positions and resources to develop the church so that the gospel would be widely spread.

The Publisher admonished politicians that social and economic status aside, every Christian has a divine duty, as an ambassador of Christ to promote the gospel, warning of the consequences of spiritual complacency, as everyone would be answerable to God after their earthly lives.

The 100th Anniversary celebration of the Church was attended by dignitaries from all walks of life including the Bishop of Bori Diocese of CACN, Bishop Mac-Job Mkparu and also featured varieties of events.

The Chairman of the 100 years Organizing Committee of the Church, Senior Catechist Sunday Lekiah Deeyah commended all those who attended the colourful and memorable celebration.
