Road Construction, Key To Socio-Economic Development – Diepriye
The Sole Administrator of the Rivers State Muslims Pilgrims Welfare Board, Adburrazaq Diepriye, has given Governor Nyesom Wike a pat on the back for touching the critical sectors of the state in the last few years.
Diepriye said the achievements of Governor Wike are worth celebrating, particularly the roads constructed and completed by his administration, citing the Elelenwo/Akpajo road and several others. He said the projects were key to the socio-economic development of the state as they have provided jobs to thousands of youths across the state.
He enjoined the people of the state to give Gov Wike all the necessary support so as to attract more developmental projects in the state. He noted that many projects were abandoned because of lack of community support.
Diepriye also used the opportunity to appeal all the Muslim faithful in the state to be law abiding and always pray for peace. He called on them to avoid anything that could cause breach of peace in the state.
He said Rivers State under the leadership of Governor Wike has enjoyed religious harmony and peace, stressing that it is therefore inaccurate, outrageous and baseless to present fiction as facts as the state has enjoyed peaceful co-existence and religious tolerance so far.
While referring to a false online report on the activities of the board which he said were aimed at de-marketing the state, he called on the public to see the article as fake while urging all to show faith and solidarity as Governor Wike continues to drive development of the state to greater heights.
Meanwhile, Diepriye recounted that on July 6, 2015 the Rivers State Muslims Pilgrims Welfare Board was one of the early parastatals constituted on assumption of office by Governor Wike to among others cater for the social and spiritual well-being of Muslims in Rivers State, adding that the governor graciously sponsored Muslims to the Holy land, Saudi Arabia.
His words: “It is worth noting that on January 27, 2017, the first Rivers State Muslims’ Pilgrims Welfare Board was dissolved thereafter, a Sole Administrator was appointed who functioned till the end of his tenure on the 29th of May 2019 not September 8, 2019, as falsely reported”.
