Royal Father, Obele Pledges Support For National Network 15th Anniversary

Members of the National Network group of newspapers have paid a courtesy call on the High Chief Engineer Paul Obele, former Managing Director, Eleme Petrochemical Company, with a view to getting his fatherly and moral support for the publication’s 15th anniversary scheduled for Friday 18, Octeber, 2019 at Hotel Presidential.

Addressing the host, Chairman of the Editorial Board of the National Network group of newspapers, Dr. Barigbon Nsereka, praised what he described as ” unequalled humility ” of the high chief while also appreciating him for his warm reception. He informed him that National Network is set to roll out the drums in celebration of unbroken publication for a period spanning 15 years in the annals of in the state and beyond.

He explained that the event which is expected to be a weeklong activities will parade crème de la crème of the state , including those in politics, religion, Journalism, academia, apart from other critical sectors.

Informing the host of the planned efforts of the publication to honour him, he premised his suitability  on the fact that  his activities over the years stood him out as one to be reckoned with.  Dr. Barigbon said:” you have been singled out  for people to learn from those of you who are doing well,”promising that the event will be spiced with glamour and grandeur. He described the high chief as a legendary care giver.

Earlier, following the introduction of the Editorial Board and other members of staff to the host,the General Manager and Editor-in-Chief of the National Network newspaper, Chris Konkwo said that the national network family is celebrating favors received  from God , since  4 October 2004 when the newspaper commenced publication in service of humanity.

He stressed that the newspaper had over the years paraded one of the best corporate offices in the state, apart from having an incomparable list of staff numbering close to 20. According to him, this constrained the newspaper to decide to gather stakeholders, including those in government and others that mattered. He expressed optimism that if the host supported the initiative it would go a long way in adding colour to the event.

He explained that most of the efforts being made through Journalism were essentially humanitarian, even as practitioners deployed professionalism in presenting facts for human consumption despite obvious sacrifices and challenges confronting them.

In his remark, the host, High Chief Paul Obele, expressed joy at the visit and observed that God had a purpose for the favors the publication had enjoyed in time past and would continue to enjoy. He enjoined his guests to take a reflection and factor the purpose bringing about an attempt to celebrate into consideration.

The Agunkchamber I of Obosi in Anambra State said it is important for those in position of authority to ask the pertinent question  about the purpose for which they were raised.

While appreciating his visitors, the royal father noted that there were businesses that collapsed under five years  in operation. According to him, when individuals sought and got an answer to the purpose of his existence it would be easy to attract divine rewards in life. He pledged his support despite the closeness of the event.

He prayed God to continue to increase the National Network family as the publication continues to enrich humanity.
