Pastor Afolabi Wants Nigeria ‘Christianized
As the religious supremacy between Christians and Muslims rages on, a servant of God Pastor Simeon Afolabi says if the Muslims are making efforts to Islamize Nigeria, Christians should also make efforts to Christianize Nigeria, saying that Christians ought not be reactionary but proactive.
“If the Muslims are trying to Islamize Nigeria. On the other hand, the Christians in Nigeria should also try to look for a way to Christianize Nigeria. In fact, Christians should not be reactionary but proactive.
Pastor Afolabi made this known recently in Port Harcourt during the International Communion of Ministers (ICM) organized by First Love Assembly, Port Harcourt.
He explained that the essence of the Ministers Communion was to bring ministers together to streamline things and ensure that they don’t deviate, pointing out that ICM is not anti-PFN but complementary.
Pastor Afolabi who is the General Overseer of First Love Assembly hinted that every minister of God must realize that he has two assignment.
“Every minister must know that he has two basic assignments. First, it is teaching people the knowledge of God. Second, it is to model Christians to live like Christ”, Pastor Afolabi maintained.
The former executive member of PFN in Rivers State reiterated that whatever they do in First Love Assembly they try to be consistent and persistent.
On his advice to Christians, Pastor Afolabi went further: “The Christian community should live a Christian life. They should live Christians life in words and indeed. The Christian professional should reflect all that Christ represents which is love, humility and selflessness”.
Also speaking, the resident pastor of First Love Assembly, pastor Linus Ochai said that the so called Islamization of Nigeria would be a mirage.
“The ideal of islamization of Nigeria is mirage. This is because Islamic leaders do not have absolute say in running the affairs of Nigeria”.
Pastor Ochia hinted that the International Communion of Ministers (ICM) is the brain child of First Love Assembly has been running for over a decade.
“The programme of this Church known as International Communion of Ministers (ICM) programme has been running for over a decade. In fact, it gives us a clear understanding of the work ministers are expected to do”. Pastor Ochia narrated.
The Resident Pastor of the church explained that the programme had been able to unite ministers of God from other Churches with those of First Love Assembly, stressing on the need for the Church to set a system of evaluation.
On the mandate and expansion of First Love Assembly General Overseers; Pastor Ochia had this to say: “The mandate of First Love Assembly as a ministry is the restoration of destiny.
Indeed, our serving overseer, Bishop Afolabi has been pursing this mandate or vision of restoration of the Church over the years. Besides, the issue of expansion should be seen in revelation of God. Expansion differs from church to church. From locality to locality”.
He described pastor Afolabi as a great leader and progressive. He expressed satisfaction with the progress and growth of First Love Assembly.
He urged ministers from other denominations to demonstrate a high sense of discipline and decorum in their conducts.
“When our spiritual leaders achieve discipline in the Christendom both the young and old will embrace peace at all time” pastor Ochia emphasized see (b)
He promised that First Love Assembly would not deviate from the plan of God.
