Christians Should Pursue Transformed Lifestyle – Cleric
Christians generally have been urged to follow in the footpsteps of Jesus Christ by living a life that is transformed by the Word.
This was part of the message preached to the congregation at Rhema Chapel International Churches, Port Harcourt. The Minister-in-Charge of the church, Pastor Abiola Ajadi, stressed that Jesus had a lifestyle he was associated with which according to him was followed by his disciples.
He called of Christian faitful to imbibe a lifestyle of peace, favour, transparency which he said are important to God. “Heavens may not release what rightly belongs to you, until you begin to conform to his (God) standards,” he said.
Pastor Ajadi described lifestyle as a way individuals live and manner of living, while calling on Christians to consider their lifestyle if in tandem with the Word of God. According to him, God desired that his children should be like sheep under a shepherd, but when they were something else that would not please God.
He noted that Christians are expected to be disciplined in order to live a transformed life. The clergy stated that how a Christian lives would determine whether he would attract the light of God or darkness. He said, “reputation is what you call yourself but character is what people know about you.”
The M.I.C urged believers to cultivate the lifestyle of obedience to God’s Word, saying it is a lifestyle that is blessed, as he cited Abraham in response to the instruction of God to him.
He said:”A lifestyle of obedience opens doors for you.” He defined obedience as harkening to higher authority.
On why individuals should live an obedient lifestyle, he said: “As long as you are in the Kingdom, obedience is the constitution that gives you a colourful life,” adding that because God commanded it and it remains the gateway to abundance.
