Oba Of Ogbaland, Others Mourn Death Of Ace Photograper

The people of Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area of Rivers State were on Wednesday 4th December, 2019 thrown into mourning following the death of an Omoku based popular photographer, Mr. Isobo Augustine Osah.

The late Isobo Osah who died peacefully after a brief illness, was a house hold name among photographers in the State, and hailed from Elieta Town in Igburu clan of Ogba Kingdom but until his demise was based in Omoku, headquarters of ONELGA.

Until his death, he was the private photographer to the Oba (Eze-Ogba) of Ogbaland, consulting photographer to Federal College of Education (Technical) Omoku as well as to the Nigerian Agip Oil Company (NAOC) Limited among others.

When the sad news of the demise of the popular photographer was broken, markets, schools, shops and churches were reportedly hurriedly closed as sympathizers trooped to his residence along Police Road, Omoku while others were said to have moved to the late photographer’s studio located along Market Road, Omoku to condole with his family.

Reacting to the death of Isobo Photos, the Oba (Eze-Ogba) of Ogbaland, His Eminence Sir (Dr.) Chukumela Nnam Obi II (OON, JP) described the deceased as a professional photographer whose demise is a big loss to his Palace and indeed Ogba Kingdom as according to him, since he (Oba) engaged the late Isobo Photos as the Palace photographer in the 80’s, he has discharged his duties effectively and prayed God to grant his soul eternal rest and give the bereaved family the fortitude to bear the great loss.

In their separate reactions, the Provost Federal College of Education (Technical), Omoku, Dr. Emmanuel Ikenyiri and the Eze Ali Usomini of Ogbaland, His Royal Majesty, Eze (Dr.) Allen Osoh, JP poured tribute on the late photographer stressing that his demise would leave a vacuum too difficult to fill.

Others who expressed their sympathies include the Secretary, ONELGA Council, Sir Innocent Osam; the Director, Omoku Town Club, Sir Harcourt Ichoku, JP; the Director Obakata Mandate, Chief M.A Osaji, former Provost, FCE(T) Omoku, Dr. N.S Oguzor; the HOD, Accounting Education, FCE (T) Omoku, Dr. Levi Uche Ahiauzu, MNIM; the Registrar, FCE(T) Omoku, Dr. L.E Onyije; the President Foundation Club of Nigeria, Chief Amos Nkwekeorie; the Eze Iyasara and Prime Minister of Ogbaland, HRH, Eze Louis Ajie, JP, the MmbohKrikri of Orashi Region and bosom friend of the deceased, Prince Charles Amadike-Otoboh, JP.

Two former Registrars of FCE (T), Omoku Dr. (Mrs.) V.A Tekenah; Dr. A.C. Nwokocha, the Director Audit, FCE (T) Omoku and Mr. V.I Ahiakwo among others.

The late Isobo is survived by his aged mother, wife, children and a host of other relations.

As at the time of this report, no date has been fixed for his burial but a Condolence Register has been opened at his residence along Police Road, Omoku.
