The Paramount Ruler of Rumuodara Community, HRH, Eze John Enyindah Amadi has assured that he and his Council of Chiefs would support the new Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Okporo Police Division, S. P. Blaise Udoh Etete to fight crime in the community.
Eze Amadi gave the assurance when the DPO paid him a courtesy visit at his Palace, Wednesday January 22, 2020.
Although, Eze Amadi said Rumuodara is peaceful, he however, pointed out some flashpoints in the community which he advised the DPO to pay close attention to.
The areas include, Shell Pipelines/Waterfront, Ohia-araa areas which cut across the basic of ADAMAC Group of companies, Egbelu Road, East West Road Junction and R/D Road. He told the Okporo DPO to monitor these areas thoroughly, if he wished to flush out criminals in the community.
The monarch who disclosed that Rumuodara Community is made up of three clans namely: Rumuchukwu, Rumuokeke and Rumuonukem further advised DPO Blaise to perform his duties without fear or favour and stand for truth always.
Earlier, the DPO, S. P. Blaise Udoh Etete said he came to solicit for the support of Eze Amadi and the leadership of the community to make his work easy.
He said the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) had maintained that community policing is the way to go, stressing that involvement of community leadership would enhance crime fighting.
- P. Etete urged the community leaders to supply him with the necessary information that will make crime fighting easier. He said information is very important for their work and urged the chiefs not to withhold information from him.
Elder Collins Ogonda, Chief Emmanuel Chinwo and High Chief Martins Ogbugo, CDC Chairman said they were ready to supply the necessary information, but asked the DPO not to disclose their identity when the information was supplied.
S. P. Blaise Udoh who was posted to Okporo Police Division on 1st January, 2020 was accompanied to the Palace by men of the Division.
