Elele Monarch Joins Campaign

…As Fight Against Spread Of Corovirus Intensifies

As the fight against the spread of COVID-19 pandemic rages, the Paramount Ruler/Nyenweli Elele Kingdom in Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State, HRH, Eze Jonathan O. G. Amadi has joined other stakeholders to sensitize the people and residents of the area.

Represented by Eze, Sir Mike Elechi and his cabinet members, the monarch made it clear that the decease has no known cure yet and so it is cleanliness and total adherence to expert directives that could save the citizens.

“Part of the mitigation is for prevention and management, the pandemic has no cure yet”, people should maintain personal hygiene, be washing their hands regularly, sanitize them and wear face mask for those who can afford them”.

Eze Elechi maintained that desperate situation requires desperate action and solution, adding that the measures Governor Nyesom Wike has enumerated though draconic and painful is necessary if the people must stay alive.

He used the opportunity to commend the state governor for the efforts he is making to stop the spread of the virus.

The monarch described the scourge as spiritual comparing it to the plague that occurred in the bible against the Egyptians where the Israelites were asked to stay indoors for a period of time for the plague to pass.

He said the beauty of the whole thing is that both the high and low in the society are lockdown together to solve the problem. Eze Elechi however assured that there is hope at the end and lessons to learn both individually and collectively.

The monarch used the opportunity to demonstrate the use of the sanitizers and face masks procured which he eventually distributed to his people and those around.

He equally assured that there would be washing hand points to be installed at strategic places in the community.

Similarly, the Amanyanabo of Ancient Koko Kingdom in Okrika LGA of Rivers State, HRH, King Frank Iritamunoke Hezekiah (JP), (Koko Opuchiri IV) said he has sensitized his subjects on the need for them to observe and obey all the directives of the state government.

Speaking with journalists in his palace through his Chief of Staff, Sir, Chief Precious Saiah, the monarch disclosed that apart from informing his subjects and residents of the area through the local town crier, they have also called them out and demonstrate for them on how to use sanitizers and face mask and as well provided them with the materials.

“We also ensure that wash hand points are stationed at strategic places in the community”.

The monarch said though the measures taken are alright if people must stay alive, but that the governor should consider palative measures to support the people in addition to paying this month’s salary to workers to cushion the effect of the sit-at-home policy.
