As global efforts are intensified to stem the spread of the dreaded Covid-19 scourge, a cleric has alleged that Nigeria’s situation is the consequence of God’s anger due to the mismanagement of the country.
According to Prophet John Udeme Bassey of the Voice of Freedom Synagogue, Port Harcourt, the Almighty is incensed with President Mohammadu Buhari for not meeting up with the yearnings of Nigerians who elected him in 2015 and also reelected him in 2019 for another four years.
“God Almighty is very, very angry with the President because of his draconic, tyrannical and nepotistic governance. I have said for the umpteenth time that if President Buhari does not repent and turn away from his evil rule, I will cause his removal and replace him with the man or woman after my heart”, he revealed as he fielding questions from journalists in Port Harcourt last weekend.
While acknowledging that the coronavirus plaque is a global pandemic, the prophet insisted that had God been favourably disposed towards the President, Nigeria’s records would have been a zero case of the dreaded Covid-19.
While also warning that the country’s romance with China towards containing the virus would be counterproductive, the prophet wondered why the President would even retain diplomatic relations with a country that are killing Nigerians and black people at large.
He urged Nigeria to borrow a leaf from Tanzania who threw back a huge loan proposed from China because of what he called primordial motive behind the loan.
“The world should be ready to absorb more shock as six prominent leaders would die. They have taken his grace for granted. But the good news is that in 49 days from now, Covid-19 will be gone”, he prophesied even as he expressed hope that the world would learn a lesson from the coronavirus pandemic.
Glossing over Covid-19 disease in Rivers State, Prophet Bassey gave thumbs up to Governor Nyesom Wike for the proactive steps taken to tackle the scourge.
He said Governor Wike’s God-given wisdom is the key that has unlocked the mystery behind containing the dreaded virus in the State.
“Wike’s leadership acumen has been brought to bear in managing the Covid-19 pandemic and I believe that is what Nigeria needs if it hopes to win this fight. Wike should be handed the baton to lead this fight and I believe once that is done, the war will be won”, he said.
The prophet urged the Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF) to as a matter of urgency, nominate Governor Wike to champion the war against Covid-19 as according to him, Wike processes the antidote.
