RSHA Moves To Ensure Robust Financial Regulations For Rivers

As part of ways to ensure that the finances of Rivers State is properly regulated with adequate accountability process in place, the Rivers State House of Assembly committee on Public Accounts recently met with financial stakeholders in Edo and Lagos State.

The committee headed by the Akuku-Toru constituency 1 lawmaker and deputy whip of the House Hon. Major Jack said the meeting with Auditor Generals of both states was meant to share ideas on how best to regulate and put in place best accountability processes for the state finance

He also disclosed that the visit was also expected to assist the committee fine tune and put finesse to the audit Bill before the State Legislature adding that  the Rivers State House of Assembly Public Accounts Committee is poised to achieve a more robust and effective financial regulation for the people of Rivers State.

He thanked members of the delegation as well as the Auditor Generals of Lagos and Edo for their contributions during the visit, stating that the Rivers State Audit Bill will be given all the support needed for its implementation.

Part of the delegation include Deputy Speaker, Rt Hon Edison Ehie, leader of the House, Hon Martin Amaewhule, Hon Matthew Dike amongst others.
