The Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) Ogu/Bolo chapter has felicitated with the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike for successfully completing one year of his second tenure in office.
According to a statement signed by the party chairman in the area, Hon Marcus Thompson and made available to journalists, the party noted with delight that despite all the distractions from all quarters, the governor’s zeal and commitment has continued to gain momentum.
“After emerging as the best performing governor in your first term, you continued to take the lead as you did in your first tenure in delivering the dividends of democracy to the good people of Rivers State”, the statement read.
They expressed delight that the governor has not slowed down the spread and determination with which he started in his first tenure, recalling that as he was rounding up his last tenure with the commissioning of completed projects across the state, he initiated new ones, notable among them, they noted was the exquisite three flyover bridges at various stages of completion to decongest traffic at Garrison roundabout, Rumuokoro roundabout and Artillery areas of the State.
The Ogu/Bolo chapter of PDP also noted with delight what they described as governor Wike’s great wisdom, tactics and strategy which he has asserted in fighting the dreaded coronavirus pandemic for months, a development which they also noted, has checkmated the spread of the scourge and earned him commendation from the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) as “the most proactive and most efficient strategist in the fight to contain the deadly virus”.
The party said the list of the governor’s achievements were so numerous in all the sectors that he will be leaving a very big shoe for his successor.
The PDP Ogu/Bolo chapter also said the Rivers people and residents still believe in governor Wike’s ability to deliver more projects, both human capital and infrastructural development before the end of his tenure.
They used the opportunity to assure the governor of their unflinching support and cooperation to his administration while pledging to maintain the achievements of the party in the local government.
Similarly, the Oyigbo Local Government PDP Chairman, Hon Ibe Alex congratulated Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike for the successful completion of his one year in the second tenure in office.
the Ogu/Bob chapter chairman of the PDP said they particularly saluted the governor’s doggedness and proactiveness in the fight against the spread of the deadly coronavirus in the State.
“Your prompt actions have saved the state from contracting the COVID-19 virus more than what the enemies intended”, he said.
He said Governor Wike’s prudent management of the state especially in the area of human capital, roads and infrastructural development.
The local government party boss stated, in a statement signed by the chairman and secretary respectively and made available to the press noted that as His Excellency marks this one year of landmark achievement in governance of his second tenure in office with verifiable and outstanding achievements they join other well meaning Nigerians to congratulate the governor and pray God to continue to strengthen him and his team to continue to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people.
Hon Alex equally used the opportunity to pledge their unflinching loyalty and support for the Wike administration in the state.
