Former Rivers Lawmaker Dies At 45

A former Lawmaker in the Rivers State House Of Assembly, Hon. Martin’s Mannah has died of kidney related disease.

The late lawmaker who hailed from Nobo Community in Igbu-Ehuda, Ahoada East Local Government Area of Rivers State served in the Rivers State 8th House of Assembly representing Ahoada East Constituency 1, from 2015 to 2019.

He however lost his reelection in 2019 when he decamped to the All Progressives Congress Party and became the party’s candidate for that constituency.

Mannah entered politics in 1991, when he was still in secondary school. He campaigned for the first time in 2004 as Deputy Chairman of Ahoada East under the platform of ANPP, where he lost.

In 2011 he campaigned again as Deputy Chairman of Ahoada East under the platform of PDP, where he lost again. In 2015, he campaigned to represent Ahoada East I at the Rivers State House of Assembly where he won after a supplementary election.
