Southern Kaduna Killings: Dum Dekor Urges Service Chiefs To Step Aside

Southern Kaduna has for some time now become a hotbed of banditry and the killing of helpless people but, sadly, the perpetrators have remained at large.

However, the situation has become worrisome, attracting reviews in both the traditional and social media.

Lawmakers and prominent Nigerians both within and outside the country have condemned the killings, bemoaning the incompetence of government and security agencies to save the lives of the predominantly Christian population in Southern Kaduna.

Reacting on the unfortunate development, the lawmaker representing Khana/Gokana Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Dumnamene Dekor has called on the presidency to rejig the nation’s security apparatuses by sacking all service chiefs.

He said the spate of insecurity across the country, particularly Southern Kaduna calls for concern and urged all those superintending over the security apparatuses to do the needful by stepping aside.

“All these Service Chiefs and Commanders should step aside so we can apply better ways of approaching these issues.

“Every day, human beings are dying and buried in mass graves, yet nothing is done.  It happened in Rivers State and it was stopped, violently stopped”, he said.

He urged security agencies to identify the flashpoints and routes through which the attackers come into the communities.

He said the finding would enable security agencies to go into the forests and arrest or tame the perpetrators of these heinous crimes against the hapless people.

The lawmaker said credible intelligence information available to the House indicates that the bandits are planning to execute fresh attacks after the Salah celebration.

Rt. Hon. Dekor also reiterated his earlier call for adoption of state policing as a lasting solution to the ugly trend of senseless killing of innocent lives in the country while calling on the people of Southern Kaduna to be vigilant and law abiding.
