RSU Wins More Laurels For Academic Excellence

The Rivers State University, Nkpolu -Oroworukwo, Port Harcourt, has just emerged victorious in the South South Zonal Project Competition for Nigerian Universities, organized by Committee of Deans of Engineering and Technology of Nigerian Universities (CODET).

Rivers State University represented by students of the faculty of Engineering, Idema Emughkuipu, Amadi Isaac, Daka Sydney and Elijah Ime also came 1st in the group category as well as 1st and 2nd positions in the individual Category that comprised of 11 Nigerian Universities.

Presenting a plaque awarded to the University for emerging victorious at the competition to the Vice Chancellor of Rivers State University, Prof. Blessing Chimezie Didia, the Dean, Faculty of Engineering, Prof. C. O. Ahiaokwo thanked  the Vice Chancellor for providing necessary support for the growth of faculty of Engineering.

He said with the victory, the University is now qualified to take part in the forthcoming CODET National Project Competition for Nigerian Universities, slated to hold on the 1st of August, 2019.

He reassured the Vice chancellor of his team commitment to bring home the National trophy.

While receiving the award, the Vice Chancellor of Rivers State University, Prof. Blessing Chimezie Didia, expressed satisfaction with the level of preparation by the students of the University in emerging victorious in almost all of their competitions with other sisters universities.

He said the success achieved by the students was a testimony of his resolve for excellence by all and sundry.

The University administrator however, congratulated the students for making the University proud. ###
