RSHA Assures Peaceful Resolution Of NULGE, Ahoada-West LGA
The Rivers State House of Assembly has assured the authority of Ahoada-West local Government Council as well as the leadership of NULGE that the on-goimg crisis resulting from unpaid salaries of 110 council workers will be resolved amicably between both parties.
The House chairman on Public Complaints and Petition, Hon. Evans Bipi gave the assurance during a meeting with the representatives of the parties involved in the crisis.
” We are going to look into all your submissions and come up with a position such that there will be no victor no vanguished and that position should be accepted by NULGE President, Ahoada-West Council Chairman and Local Government Service Commission”, he pledged.
Promising a harmonious settlement, Hon. Evans Bipi said that his committee will not do anything that will cause further disconnect or disunity stressing that what Rivers State House of Assembly wants is peace which according to him must definitely be achieved and thanked all the parties for their patience and cooperation.
Meanwhile the executive chairman of Ahoada-West Local Government Council, Hon. Hope Ikiriko has appealed to the committee to mandate the Local Government Service Commission to do the needful by ascertaining the employment status of the affected workers.
He said that the workers from level 01 to 06 are not supposed to be in Ahoada-West but should be sent to their various Local Government Councils of origin while those from level 08 and above should show the proof of authenticity of their employments.
Hon. Hope Ikiriko further said that issues of dead staff and all forms of anomalies are supposed to be addressed by the Local Government Service Commission adding that the Commission is in a better position to ensure sanity in the system.
