She strolled into the newsroom of National Network wearing a confident smile. One quick examination, you see a debonair young lady exuding a determination to succeed in her chosen career. Her looks belie her personality: simple and smart; small in appearance but mighty in action! She spoke eloquently, with punctuating smiles that tells she is in charge.
Her songs, a blend of Chioma Jesus and Mercy Chinwo mix put gospel music lovers to endless dancing.
Welcome to the world of Miss Chioma Nelly ThankGod, Abia State-born and Port Harcourt-based gospel artist. But, musically, Chioma is known as Nellypraize, a name that evokes happiness and joy, if one listens to her songs or better still, watch her live stage performance.
In the interview that ensued, Chioma revealed that she recently dropped a single titled ‘Grateful’ which she says is doing very well.
“The coronavirus pandemic has imposed limitations on virtually everything including the music industry. But due to popular demand from my fans, I had to release the song and that happened during the Covid-19 lockdown.
“Feelers from bloggers indicate there is massive downloads. The song can be obtained from various social media platforms like Youtube, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram”, she said.
The gospel artist also revealed she had been honouring invitations from churches across the country where she sings to promote the song.
Chioma who is Praise Leader at Faithful Christian Power Ministries, Port Harcourt, further disclosed that she is planning an online show to reach her fans across the world.
On some of the gospel artists whom she draws inspirations, Nellypraize says she draws great inspiration from singer Chioma Jesus while Sinach is the lady she dreams to meet and share the stage together.
For the rave of the moment, Mercy Chinwo, the budding star said she was also looking forward to singing with her.
Chioma, the only female in a family of five, said the future looks bright for her; and also looks forward to becoming a world acclaimed gospel music celebrity.
“I’ve been a product of God’s grace and it is my prayer that the grace of God would make me realize my life’s goals. In everything I do, I put God first and as long as I continue to do His will, heaven is my limit”, she said.
