Fed. Govt. Directive On Panel Of Inquiry Vindicates Gov. Wike
The speaker, Rivers State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ikuiyi Owaji Ibani has described the directive of President Buhari to the state Governors to set up panel of enquiry to look into the excesses of the men of Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) as a vindication for Barr. Nyesom Wike.
In an interview with journalists in Port Harcourt he recalled that Governor Wike had in the past condemned the activities of men of SARS adding that the world will now understand why the Governor had called on the Presidency to address the issues of SARS brutality in the state.
He commended the actions the Governor took in imposing curfew in some parts of the state characterised by violence that erupted during the EndSARS protests noting that it was to ensure the safety of lives and properties of residents in the state.
The Speaker who is also the lawmaker representing Andoni Constituency advised the youths to in addition to the EndSARS protests provide a road map of what it takes to have Youths Development Agenda to enhance their objectives.
He however prayed for a better society for even the generations yet unborn while expressing hope that the death of those who lost their lives during the EndSARS protests will not be in vain.
