Information reaching our news desk suggests that the leader of Etche Local Government Legislative Assembly, Blackson Nwanyanwu risks impeachment over physical assault on one Mrs Love Nwanyanwu who is said to be his uncle’s wife.
Some councillors of Etche legislative Assembly were at headquarters of Rivers State Police Command to ascertain the veracity of the news on the alleged brutalisation of Mrs Love by the leader of the house and his siblings.
One of the Councilors who spoke to our reporter on condition of anonymity disclosed that having seen for themselves, the house will deliberate the issue on the floor of the Assembly and they will commence impeachment proceeding against the leader if he is found complicity in the allegation.
Mrs Love had accused the leader of Etche Legislative Assembly and his siblings of physically assaulting her in the village after they accused her of causing problems in the family.
The mother of six alleged that her head was broken with a Planck by the councillor and his siblings.
Mrs love who is admitted in the hospital told our reporter that she needs justice in the matter.
When contacted ,Hon Blackson Nwanyanwu denied the allegation.
Meanwhile, the spokesperson of Rivers State Police command, SP Nnamdi Omoni confirmed the incident and added the matter has been reported to the Human Rights desk of the Police command and investigation is ongoing.
