Two PH-Base Journalists Take Spouses To Altar

Mr. Ofonime Friday Okon of Rhythm 93.7 Radio in Port Harcourt and his counterpart, Mr. Uchechukwu Tunde Okoro of the TVC have finally bade farewell to bachelorhood.

At the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Mission (House of Bread Parish) Mile I, Diobu Port Harcourt, Mr. Ofonime Okon tied the nuptial knot with his heartthrob while Uche Okoro said “I do” with the woman of his life at the Victorious Faith Power Salvation Church, Elekahia Port Harcourt.

Preaching the sermon shortly after performing the marriage rites at the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Mission (House of Bread Parish) Mile I, Diobu, Port Harcourt, the resident Pastor, Pastor Job Akin reiterated the need for the couple to cling unto each other and ensure that all their dealings is one.

He quoted the Bible saying a man will leave his parents house to have his own family.

The man of God emphasized that love is indeed the major ingredients of marriage, urging them to be faithful to their marriage vows at all times.

At the reception which was held at the Arena Event Centre, GRA Port Harcourt, the chairman of the occasion and Commissioner for Information and Communication, Barr. Emma Okah admonished the couple to maintain and nurse the love that brought them together, adding that patience and endurance mark the threshold of marriage.

He however expressed confidence that Ofonime Okon, a determined hardworking young man will not disappoint the crowd that witnessed the event.

Among the personalities at the high table who witnessed the event alongside NUJ chairman, Stanley Job and members, were the publisher of the National Network Newspaper, Pst. Jerry Needam, the embattled Eleme LG Council Chairman, Hon (Barr) Philip Okparaji and wife, the Director General of the Nebourhourhood Safety Watch Agency, Rtd DSP Uche Mike Chukwuma as well as the President of Kagote, Mr. Peter Mede.

Similarly, Mr. Uchechukwu Tunde Michael Okoro, a staff reporter with the TVC Lagos, over the weekend in Port Harcourt said “I do” with his heartthrob, Miss Ikiomasi Lilian Victor.

The conjugal knot was tied at the Victorious Faith Power Salvation Church, Elekahia, Port Harcourt.

Preaching the sermon, Bishop (Dr) James G. Igwe said the business is for mature minds.

He admonished the couple to ensure that they sustain the love that brought them together till death do them part, ensuring that no third party comes between them when the challenges set in, adding that marriage indeed is not a bed of roses.

The man of God however urged those who love them to pray and encourage them to succeed.

At the Delight Zone, Abacha Road GRA PH reception, the High Table which was consists of the NUJ Chairman, Rivers State, Comrade Stanley Job Stanley, Comrade Eranest Chinwo, Chairman Correspondent Chapel, Rivers State and other prominent personalities from Imo, Bayelsa and Lagos State encouraged the couple. The chairman of the occasion in his remarks said the event is one of the most important sacrament ordained by God, adding that every parents prays and looks forward to this date in the lives of their children.

He made it clear that indeed there will be a time, the pressure of marriage set in,by this time, he noted, the couple should endure with patience as joy follows suit afterwards.

The chairman also stated that third parties especially well wishers should show the couple love and encouragement but should be allowed to learn on the job.

Highlight of the occasion was the crossing of biros by members of the Pen Profession present to the admiration of the guests.
