Kelga Chairmanship Hopeful Condemns Attack On Christian Universal Church Inc

One of the Chairmanship Aspirants for Ikwerre Local Government Council of Rivers State in the forth-coming LG elections, Chief (Dr) Goodluck Nwobike has condemned in strong terms the bombing of the Christian Universal Church Inc. in Diobu area of Port Harcourt said to belong to Rev (Dr) Joshua E. Wike, father of the State Governor, Nyesom Wike.

Speaking with newsmen at the sideline of a public function in Port Harcourt, Sir Nwobike said the incidence was indeed an attack on the Almighty God and not the elderly General Overseer of the church.

He urged the security operatives not to leave any stone unturned to fish out the perpetrators and their sponsors. “These attackers must be brought to book because it is an embarrassment to us all as the sponsors intended to rubbish the relative peace in the state” he insisted.

He commended the church worshippers for immediately putting the incidence behind them and continued with all their church activities believing that the God whom they serve would avenge for them.

The chairmanship aspirant however thanked God that there was no life lost in the ugly incidence that rocked the peace of the state. He used the opportunity to commiserate with the G.O and members of the church while commending the vigilante group of Diobu for being alive to their responsibility and appealed to the authorities to compensate the gallant security outfit.

He equally used the chance to appeal to criminal elements in the state to repent and turn a new leaf in their own interest and as well urged the church members and Christians in general to be courageous and renew their faith in God especially in the face of persecution.

Chief Nwobike made it clear that inspite of the pocket of sponsored violence, that Rivers State is peaceful and investors’ destination any day, especially with the re-invigorated commitment of Governor Nyesom Wike. He also used the opportunity to reaffirm the support of his party supporters to the Wike administration to achieve set goals.
