Royal Father Eulogizes Wike
A traditional Ruler in Port Harcourt, HRH, Eze Tobin Owabie, Eze Onumini I of Mgbundukwu in Diobu, Port Harcourt has described the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike as a bridge builder with his style of politics.
He stated this in a chat with newsmen during the commissioning of some rehabilitated streets in GRA area of Port Harcourt over the weekend.
He said the well thought out vision to concentrate on people oriented projects distinguishes the governor as a grassroots politician who knows the needs of his people.
“For him to invite different governors and legislators across party lines to commission these projects is for them to witness and perhaps to teach them how public office holders supposed to behave,” he said.
The monarch however disagreed with the invitation extended to the Abia State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu who he noted has failed his people from overwhelming reports in the public domain.
“Gov Ikpeazu does not merit that invitation except to see if he would be indirectly thought the act of governance for him to emulate.”
He described those who criticize Governor Wike as being envious of his achievements, adding that all the projects being commissioned in the past week has shown that the development cut across the entire local government areas of the state.
The monarch made it clear that the flyover bridges that has been delivered on record time by the giant construction company – Julius Berger, are evident that God Wike is a focused administrator and prudent manager of resources.
He used the opportunity to advised the governor to be focused and pursue his divine mission in the state, adding that if his predecessors in office had done most of the dualization of the internal roads or flyovers which he observes, is going to decongest traffic on the roads besides the esthetic beauty of the environment, the Wike administration would have concentrated effort in other areas by now.
Eze Owabie however used the chance to appeal to the governor to carve out more roles to traditional rulers and as well consider the classification of some of them whom he said are overdue while promoting others to fill the vacancies created by deaths.
He made it known that traditional rulers play vital roles in the maintenance of peace and order at the grassroots and so should be supported.
