LG Elections: Political Space Is Open For Everyone, No Zoning Formular In Delga – Hon. Johnbull
The Director-General of ”Project Justify”, of a campaign group for Dennis Fayeofori for the office of Chairman, Degema Local Government Area for the forthcoming local government council election in Rivers Sate.’
The Director General of the group, Hon. Soibi Johnbull, has at last cleared the air about the different views on the zoning formular in Degema Local Government Area of Rivers State .
Hon. Johnbull said there is no zoning formular in DELGA. He made this known during a press briefing Tuesday, January 12, in Port Harcourt, due to news circulating the air that the zoning system must be obeyed.
The clarification became necessary because of differing opinion about the zoning system. According to him, the political space is open for all that believe in having the capacity to run for the chairmanship position in the upcoming Local Government elections.
Hon. Johnbull said the zoning system has contributed to poor delivery of democratic dividends, zoning system is undemocratic and is not been practised anywhere in the world.
He described those clamouring for zoning system as failures and urged the people of DELGA to choose the right candidates of their choice .
According to him, Dennis Fayeofori is the right choice who has heeded the clarion call of the youths, adding that Fayeofori who is the current leader of the Legislative Arm of government in Delga has proved his capacity.
Hon. Johnbull noted that development in Delga has been caged for too long which Hon. Feyeofori is ready to uncage if given the opportunity to serve his people.
He stressed that Hon Fayeofori can comfortably run the affairs of the Local government with his wealth of experience.
He said it was the antecedents of Hon. Fayeofori that earned him the support of the youths of the area.
Hon. Johnbull further disclosed that more youths are expected to occupy sensitive political offices in the forthcoming elections and not just in the case of DELGA.
“Hon. Rowland Sekibo, Hon. Samuel Nwanosike and former chairman of Asari-Toru, Hon. Ojukaye Flag Amachree were youths that have proven themselves in leadership positions”.
Hon. Johnbull used the medium to call on the youth friendly governor, Barr. Nyesom Wike to give more opportunity to the youths to prove themselves in leadership position.
