Council Chairman Disappears, Leaving N13,000 For Successor
Prince Nuhu Dauda, the immediate past head to the Toto Local Government Council in Nassarawa State, has plundered the treasury.
After three years as executive chairman, Dauda left barely N13,000 in the council’s coffers.
The former council chairman reportedly used a secret handover to prevent humiliation among personnel and residents.
“Prince Nuhu Dauda got himself into a lot of trouble. We are concerned about the aforementioned development, and he has neglected to tell us all of the money he claimed to have spent on certain projects, even though it is unknown or physical.
“When he arrived, he was greeted by solar lighting installed by his predecessor, but the panels have already vanished. During his tenure, insecurity and worker welfare were neglected,” a source said.
Residents who took to the streets to celebrate his exit from office called his administration the worst in the council’s history.
“Not only has his government squandered our resources, but it has also resulted in the loss of lives”. Sani Dodo, a resident of Umaisha, remarked. “He is the worst chairman who has ever presided over the business of the council.”
Maimuna Musa Dangiwa, a Gadabuke woman leader branded the former council chairman as a crooked leader whose primary motivation for seeking public office is to steal.
Dangiwa has asked the state and federal governments not to consider him for any political appointments in the future.
She asked the former council president, however, to seek forgiveness from the people in order to avoid Allah’s wrath.
Dauda, on the other hand, denied any wrongdoing while in office, emphasizing that he has put the area on a sound footing for development to flourish..
He stated that his administration made some significant accomplishments, particularly in the area of security.
