Multi-National Coys Urged To Cooperate With Gov Wike

The Multi-National Companies operating in Rivers State nay Oyigbo Local Government Area have been urged to be alive to their responsibilities and cooperate with the Rivers State governor in fixing some of the dilapidated facilities.

The former Special Adviser to governor Wike on SMEs, Hon John Ndubueze Nwachukwu, made the appeal in a chat with newsmen on Monday in Port Harcourt.

He made it clear that Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has shown capacity to manage the affairs of the State and deserves every support to achieve his target.

According to him, “It is disheartening that some influential citizens of the State should be politicizing everything the governor is doing to improve the State even to the extent of demarketing the State”.

On security, the former SA made it clear that there are pockets of insecurity in some parts of the State and that Rivers State is relatively peaceful when compared to other States.

He cited numerous National and International events that have been organized in Rivers State, including the PDP National Convention and yet there has never been incidence of security breach.

Hon. John Nwachukwu made it clear that if previous administration had shown much capacity in governance especially in roads and infrastructural development the State would have progressed better than where it is.

“Under former Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, for instance, major events of the South/South region were taken to Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital, but reverse is the case under Governor Wike. The gridlock on Rivers roads has virtually disappeared, owing to the various openings of road network by the Wike administration”.

Hon. Nwachukwu, who is also the Community Development Chairman, Umuselem Community in Oyigbo, made it clear that Oyigbo people hold Governor Wike in high esteem because they have never had it so good.

“Under Wike, he noted, the three major roads in Oyigbo that were abandoned for more than a decade especially the Eleme/Oyigbo road were awarded and construction works started immediately. His Excellency has promised to commission the roads before the rains set in”, he said.

On the stoppage of the Neighbourhood Watch trainees by the Army, the SA said it was no doubt part of the orchestrated political campaign of not recognizing anything Governor Wike does, no matter how good or beneficial it is to the people of the State.

On the recent development that former Rivers State House of Assembly Leader Chidi Lloyd and Ojukaye Flag Amachree former APC chairman were absent in courts for the continuation of their pending criminal matters, Nwachukwu said the development goes to show how much disdain the APC-led Federal Government has for the judiciary.

He made it clear however, that APC has failed in every section of administration, “disobedience to court orders, impunity in their action, promotion of corruption and nepotism as well as total disregards to life and property of Nigerians” and therefore they must be voted out next year”.

He cited the case of the immediate past governor of Ekiti State, Hon Ayodele Fayose who surrendered himself to the EFCC to answer charges against himself immediately he stepped down.

“Also when Adams Oshiomole contested election in Edo State as a governor, it was under president Goodluck Jonathan PDP administration, the leadership not only provided a level playing ground for that contest but went ahead and congratulated him as he won unlike what is obtained under President Muhammadu Buhari”.

Hon. Nwachukwu made it clear that Nigeria cannot go back to Egypt again and so urged every hands to be on deck to vote out the APC government and restore Nigeria back to its rightful place in the comity of nations.
