Don’t Listen To Those Who Fault Your Developmental Agenda, Okocha Advises Gov Wike
A former President of Nigerian Bar Association, Chief OCJ Okocha, has advised governor of Rivers State, Chief Nyesom Wike, not to be distracted by those who fault his developmental agenda in the state.
Speaking at the flag-off of Rumuepirikom flyover in the state, the former president of Nigerian Bar Association said: “It’s a utilitarian and utility project and we commend you for giving us this project. Your Excellency I will ask you never to be deterred by the voices of what I call bad belle people. Somebody is building infrastructure and you are telling me why must Port-Harcourt have ten flyovers. Why must Obio/Akpor have flyover?”
He said flyovers were beautiful to look at and eased transport difficulties in the capital saying Rumuepirikom flyover would do same to ease traffic difficulties.
He commended him for using Julius Berger, a reputable and established company, to do the project.
He said none of the flyover bridges would collapse as happens in other places because the company has proved itself credible and reputable.
The former president of Nigerian Bar Association advised the governor not to listen to those who fault his developmental agenda for the state.
“So please do not listen to those voices of dissent, the bad belle voices”, he said.
He said the project would benefit the people of the state adding that his people were pleased to receive him and pleased with the project.
He also said the people of the state were impressed with the projects carried out by the administration.
He said governors must show seriousness in affairs of governance to be like the Rivers State governor.
Chief Okocha urged the governor to keep up the good work saying “you were elected to govern Rivers State and you are governing Rivers State to the best of your ability”.
He described the project as landmark and thanked family of the governor for giving the state a governor who has transformed governance.
He said the governor was still focused on governance despite being in second term unlike others trying to woo people to their party and applauded him for focusing on his responsibilities in office.
He said the people of the state would continue to support his administration.
The former president of Nigerian Bar Association and former Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice flagged-off construction of the project on Wednesday.
