Ogu/Bolo Chairman Commends Gov Wike
The Chairman of Ogu/Bolo Local Government Area of Rivers State, Hon. Vincent Nemieboka, has applauded Governor Nyesom Wike for his excellent performance in the past 6 years he has been at the helm of affairs.
He made the compliments during the official flag-off ceremony of the Ogu-Ekporo-Kporgot-Wakama Link Road that cuts across three local government areas of Rivers State. He described the road as strategically important to the people of Ogu/Bolo, Tai and Eleme Local Government Areas.
According to him, the construction of the Ogu-Wakama road is a landmark project that would impact positively on the economy and social life of the people when completed.
His words: “As far as development is concerned this road is strategic, it will enhance economic activities, promote social relationship, and by so doing improve social integration among members of the communities”.
The council boss thanked the governor for demonstrating such love for the people of Ogu/Bolo by executing numerous projects and the appointment of their illustrious sons and daughters into various leadership positions in government.
He promised to anchor his administration on the existing peace and unity, and also embark on empowerment programmes to encourage the youths to fend for themselves.
Senator George Thompson Sekibo in his speech said that the Ogu-Wakama road project was a vision of their people for over 30 years but could not achieve it because there was no such a determined mind to give them their heart desire, noting that Governor Nyesom Wike has done the impossible project for them.
He insisted that the governor has done much for the people of Rivers State and that in terms of projects no governor in the entire country could be compared to him.
The Assistant Secretary III, PDP, Hon. Arnold .O. Davids described the road as a road that would create unity amon the neighbouring communities.
He stated that the legacy projects spread across the entire state have shown that the governor is the best. He assured the governor that the youths of the area would ever be grateful and ready to give the contractor the needed support to achieve the successful completion of the project.
He disagreed with nay sayers and negative spinners who argued that Governor Nyesom Wike’s administration has not done any meaningful development.
Giving the description of the project, the Special Adviser to the governor on Special Projects, Dax George Kelly said the road is a total of 5.83kilometers with drainages and culverts
