Cleric Berates Dakuku For Shielding Buhari’s Failures
A Port Harcourt based clergyman, Pastor Billy Bulaye has accused the former Director General of Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Dr. Dakuku Adol Peterside of undue prejudice against the administration of Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike.
Bulaye who spoke on the sidelines of Dakuku’s interview on Silverbird’s Rhythm 93.7 Viewpoint programme on Saturday, accused Peterside of turning blind eye to the many achievements of Governor Wike.
“As far as I’m concerned, Dakuku’s vituperation on the radio program was nothing but an academic exercise.
I expected him to show responsibility by looking at issues objectively.
How can he turn blind eyes to all the completed and ongoing projects executed by the governor. Oh no, Dakuku isn’t getting it right”, he fumed.
The General Overseer of Sonship Ministries, Port Harcourt noted with dismay that the former NIMASA boss showcased his bias against the Wike administration by parriing questions regarding the failures of the Buhari-led federal government.
“Even though Dakuku Peterside sounded opposed to the PIB as passed by the National Assembly and also the none acceptance of electronic transmission of election results, he tried to use grammar to cover up PresidentI Buhari and APC’s failures”, he said.
Asked to elaborate on the supposed cover-up, the pastor said: “You noticed when he was asked to comment on the failure of his APC federal government in tackling the worsening incidents of banditry, kidnapping, herders killings, inflation and unemployment in the country, rather than answer the question, Dakuku delved into academic jingoism.
“Such serious and sensitive issue that required direct answer, Dakuku went on to confuse listeners with grammar, that he would approach it in two dimensions, and how every nation is made up of component units.
That activities of the component units feed into the center, whatever that means”, Pastor Bulaye said, wondering why he should use what he called ‘class room theatrics’ to ‘shield Buhari’s failures’.
He said it was even more annoying that Dakuku who said he would comment on the security challenges in Rivers State as well as the center, rather dissipated energy to criticize Governor Wike and refused to address that of the center as promised.
“I am not saying that Governor Wike as a human being does not have shortcomings, but a situation where you will not appreciate achievements that are clearly visible, to me smacks of unpatriotism and must be condemned by all well-meaning lovers of the State”, he said.
